Fi International is able to supply Restriction Kits that restrict power output of many different models of motorcycle to 33bhp (25kW) enabling (A) licence holders to legally ride motorcycles which could otherwise be too powerful. This greatly expands the choice to the restricted licence holder as to which 33 bhp motorcycle to enjoy after passing their test.

To clear up some points made in a recently published article concerning restriction certificate's.
F.I. International Limited have been distributing Alpha Technik 25kW Restriction kits since the late 90`s. An integral part of these kits has always been our certification proving that once correctly fitted the devices will restrict the power output of the detailed machine to 33bhp/25kW. These certificates are supplied to enable the end user to conclusively prove that so long as the restriction device/s are still correctly fitted then the machine will not produce any more than 33bhp and provide a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.16kW per kg. For Whole Vehicle Type Approved machines after 2003 these certificates also include details of component type approval and full EU compliance.
We have written confirmation from the department of transport that the burden of proof that the vehicles power does not exceed 25kW will rest with the user. Our certification gives that rider proof of power restriction and that the kit has been tested in compliance with all related EC directives and component type approval. Our certification continues to be recognised and accepted by the police and insurance companies and we continue to work closely with both bodies.
It has always been our company policy when a motorcycle is purchased in restricted form that the new owner has the motorcycle checked to ensure that the restriction kit is still correctly fitted. As our certification takes the form of a section 9 legal document it will only be admissable in court if it contains the current riders’ details. It is also highly recommend for the peace of mind of the new owner that this be done to ensure that the kit is still correctly fitted and that they are riding in accordance with their driving license.
